America is serious country that eat huge amount of fast food. Every day one quarter of Unite State people eats fast food, it means over 50.000.000 people eat fast food daily. This is really huge amount. This year Americans spend over $110 billion on fast food rather than spend on movies, books, magazine, newspaper, video…
Does fast food causing obesity? The answer is big yes. The scientist said "fast foods increase the risk of obesity in regular consumers by encouraging intentional overeating." Fast food and obesity is linked together.

There are few reasons that people choose to eat fast food, first common reason is that fast food is quick and convenient and it is not that expansive. These days most of people are working and they have increase work hours so they don’t have time to cook their own meals. Also for young people their parents are working so they choose to eat fast food and some fast food chain give toy so they makes young people to buy food. Also in television there are lots of fast food advertisement, it stimulate people as well. They star to eat fast food from child so obesity rate are keep increasing and never stop in America . (Childhood obesity in America is increasing rapidly)this is why 30% of Americans are obese.
Actually what is fast food? Fast food is simply the food can cooked and served fast is fast food. (KFC, Burger king, Mc Donald …). The advantage of fast food is it is fast, inexpensive and delicious. Number of people in the world wide they make fast food a favorite choice. People can’t realize serious hidden risk of fast food such and obesity and disease.
Fast food contains high fat, calories, cholesterol, sodium (salt) and very high density, these high density food make people to eat more calories than they need. High sodium, sugar and flour is not good for body as well. When it combined with body, it harms body and cause obesity.
Each year about 300000 people die from being obese or over weight. America is the highest in the world .roughly obese adult have been keep increasing from 19.4% in 1977, 24.5% in 2004 to 26.6% in 2007, so obese America medical cost increase. Obesity rate was less than 19% in most of sates but now greater than 25%, fast food obesity is a major risk factor of ten very serious disease and health problem. Dr. Dietz said the data probably reflected increased awareness of the obesity problem, especially among women, “who buy food, prepare it and see it, and they’re making changes for themselves that they’re also making for their kids.”
There are serious 10 diseasecause by fast food obesity. First heart disease-caused by fast food obesity, heart disease is one of the most common and most devastating and Large amounts of body fat usually result in higher levels of LDL cholesterol and lower levels of HDL.
2.diabetes- obesity related disease is diabetes. your pancreas can not produce enough insulin to covert sugars into energy for your cells. The rest of the sugar ends up floating around in your blood and causing damage
3. Dyslipidemia- Dyslipidemia could be considered a junk food obesity related illness
4. Polycystic ovary syndrome- women who is over weight or obese The condition causes irregular menstrual cycles and excess hair growth.
5. sleep apnea- Many people with weight problems attribute their lack of energy to their size but many of them actually have a disorder known as sleep apnea.
6. Arthritis- this is problem of old people but it is also to obesity people. Because they are heavy so their joint is harming
7.Blount’s disease-disease is a condition that develops when too much weight is placed on the growing bones in the lower half of the body
8.Respiratory Problems- Just as being overweight puts more stress on your heart, it also causes your lungs to work harder in order to get the oxygen needed where it needs to faster
9.liver damage-. As a result, fat can build-up around the liver.
10.stroke-this stroke is arteries in block so blood can’t go through to the brain. Oxygen can’t reach to brain so it causing death. It is common for overweight people. They have high blood pressure high cholesterol .
How we stop eat fast food and prevent obesity? It is simple , eat before going out. We eat fast food because we are hungry outside. eat some thing before going out, won’t feel hungry and won’t to eat anything, carry snack it is good too. Carry health snacks.
Fast food is suitable for busy society but it is dangerous to people. By just eating fast food, it causing lots of disease.. Instead of eat fast food try to eat organic food, like fruit and vegetable. Also cook own meals.
There are high obesity possibility, that person who eat fast food each meal than person who cook their own meals.Think more careful before eat fast food. It will cause obesity and other serious disease.

ReplyDeleteI think you have chosen a wonderful topic. The issue of obesity is pervasive, and people need to be made more aware of the obvious health issues related to this. I am not ashamed to say that I am not of the 'thin crowd', and am not going to make excuses for myself. But have you considered other possibilities that could have contributed to a persons weight? For example; birth control pills are known to affect some women in certain ways, as well as some medical factors. Although we can't entirely blame obesity on those, your are right the blame is down to pure ignorance for ones eating habits and lifestyle.
It's good to see you are making people aware of the dangers of obesity, not many would dare venture onto delicate territory.
All I can suggest is perhaps you could read through your blog again and tidy up a few spelling errors and links.
For your video, I've given instructions to Soyoung so she will guide you in that area.

hi hee hyun. i agree with the video about some people don't have enough time to cook for themselves and go out to get takeaways from fast food restaurants. i'm not saying that it's wrong to eat out, but people should think about what they are eating and shoud go to more healthier takeaways myself included. those diseases sound horrifying.:(

The eating habit is the one of the main reason for obesity. you could put some videos about short version of "Super Size Me" which deals about how fast food junks effect your body. I think this is really needed and it was nice of you to choose this topic.

ReplyDeleteGreat topic to tackle!! Even though this is an obvious situation in America it seems everyone has fitted themselves into a place that fast food is an ok factor. Causing the percentage increase over the years. Which is really scary to look at. Great pic with the two boys! it's sad to even think that a mother could feed such junk to their child and increase their health risks at such a young age...
Myself have family members that are obese but even though they get told by doctors the risks it still doesn't do anything to change their habits! But after reading your blog i'm seriously considering changing my own eating habits! i know i won't be able to do it straight away but thanks to your blog i am hoping to be able to stop my casual visits to those "bad" fast food resturants! hehe
As you said, fast food is convenient to eat and it’s s0~~~~~~~delicious to me.:p... So, it’s not easy to resist fast food. ReplyDeleteObesity is such a big deal in the world today with all of these fast food outlets, it's enough to make anyone fat and broke.
However, I don't believe that eating before you go out is going to fix this problem. Most people I know get fast food because it is exactly that.. Fast food. You get it quick, cooked and ready to be consumed in less than ten minutes. As most home cooked meals take ALOT longer than that, many people can't be bothered and just take themselves and their kids to the nearest Burger King for a feed.
Plus, it just tastes better. Everyone knows that generally, if it tastes good, it's not going to be good for us.
Anyway, that's my opinion, I don't believe there really is anything we could do to stop this fascination with fast food bar shutting the distributors down.
